Electricity law
General information on taking back old electrical appliances
The take-back and proper disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment and batteries is a legal obligation under the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act. The ElektroG contains requirements for the handling of electrical and electronic equipment.
For August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co KG, it is part of our values and our social responsibility to operate and dispose of our products in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.

1. Separate collection of old appliances
Separate collection keeps harmful substances out of household waste and the environment and ensures that valuable metals and materials are kept in circulation. Collected used batteries and old appliances are only sent for recycling. Valuable metals such as nickel, cobalt, lithium, manganese, copper, iron, aluminum and even silver can be recovered and reused as secondary raw materials. This is why the products bear a symbol with a crossed-out wheelie garbage can. Owners of old appliances must hand them in to special collection and return systems.
2. Batteries and rechargeable batteries
Old batteries and rechargeable batteries that are not enclosed in the old appliance must be returned separately. This only does not apply if old appliances are handed in to public waste disposal authorities (e.g. recycling centers), where they are separated according to the existing material.
August Rüggeberg GmbH & Co KG is a member of the approved take-back system of the GRS Batteries Foundation. This enables us to offer a comprehensive battery take-back system (in accordance with BattG). Further information can be found at

.
3. Options for returning old appliances
If you are of the opinion that you want to replace your PFERD TOOLS product with a new one or if you no longer have any use for it, do not simply dispose of it in your household waste, but hand it in at a public waste disposal facility (e.g. recycling centers).
You can find out where these can be found at www.ear-system.de/ear-verzeichnis/sammel-und-ruecknahmestellen.jsf.
PFERD TOOLS also offers you the opportunity (in accordance with §9 BattG) to take back PFERD TOOLS drives, batteries and rechargeable batteries when they have reached the end of their service life. If you wish to make use of this service, please return the product in question to us.
