Description

With the innovative STEEL cut, PFERD TOOLS has developed unique burrs for working with steel and cast steel. They feature tangibly increased aggressiveness and good guidance. They thus ensure safe and precise work. Thanks to their extremely high stock removal rate, burrs with the STEEL cut help users save considerable time when working, thus making them an economically efficient option.

Cylindrical burr with radius end according to DIN 8032. Combination of cylindrical and ball-shaped geometries.

Tungsten carbide burrs with a long shank are ideal for efficiently machining small, hard-to-reach areas of components. They can be shortened if required. This version has a long steel shank.

Special features

Up to 50 % higher stock removal rate when used on steel and cast steel in comparison to conventional cross-cut burrs.
Tangibly more aggressive, large chips and very good chip removal through the innovative tooth geometry.
Workpieces are protected through significantly lower thermal load.
The highly accurate concentricity enables impactfree working without creating chatter marks. This considerably reduces wear on the tool and tool drive.

Recommendations for use

To prevent vibrations, place the tools on powerful drives with an elastically supported spindle wherever possible.
Observe the recommended rotational speeds.
To ensure costeffective use of burrs, use a higher rotational speed and cutting speed. Use burrs with a shank diameter of 6 mm with drives with a power output from 300 watts.

Safety notes

The very high stock removal rate can cause discolouration on the shank. This does not constitute a safety risk.
For safety reasons, the maximum rotational speeds with contact with the workpiece require a reduction in the recommended speed of tungsten carbide burrs with standard shanks. Observe the product information included.
When working with long shank lengths, it is crucial that the tool is in contact with the workpiece (or inserted in the bore or slot to be machined) before the drive system is turned on. As a rule, the tool must remain in contact with the workpiece for as long as the machine is running. Failure to observe this procedure may result in burr failure (bending) and hence an increased risk of accidents. If continuous contact between the tool and the workpiece is not guaranteed during use, the maximum idling speeds must not be exceeded.
Not suitable for robotic or stationary applications. Risk of bending. Use only rigid clamping systems/drives.
